McGill Consultancy Ltd

We are a firm of independent consultants who specialise in Dry Rot Wet Rot Dampness Problems and Mould (including the so-called "toxic mould") growth in buildings.
We offer independent information and advice and offer a scientific approach to the diagnosis and treatment of this type of problem.

We offer laboratory and technical testing services for the correct diagnosis of such building defects. These are microscopical identification of fungi and insects, and analytical services for plaster, contaminating salts, gravimetric dampness analysis and datalogger environmental monitoring. We also provide mould sampling and identification.

We are qualified scientists and provide the necessary scientific back up for an accurate assessment of the exact nature of the building defects, the cause, and the most effective up-to-date solutions

We provide comprehensive training in all aspects of remedial work (to CSRT and further) including health and safety, timber repair engineering, including novel resin technology. (Course handouts are available)

We have over 38 years experience in this industry.

We are active in research and development. One of our projects was biological control technology for use in the eradication of dry rot in buildings. This work was carried out at Glasgow and Abertay Universities.

We have developed a less intrusive survey procedure for detecting and mapping dry rot in buildings.and have invented a new patented DRY ROT Detector Probe.

NEW Dry Rot Detector
.

How the detectors work

This new technology is especially useful in detecting dry rot in buildings and monitoring the success of remedial work, in particular environmental dry rot control systems.
